How long has it been since they were powered up?
If not recently, you need to power them up slowly, best with
120 Vac, possibly through a powerstat or light dimmer, while
monitoring the highest B+, just out of the rectifier.
Bring it up 5 or 10 volts at a time, wait 1/2 hour between steps.
Or replace all of the electrolytic capacitors, everywhere.
(the best idea)
I have an old set of the "twins" that has the 6 Volt vibrator.
"I think" the best idea would be to run them on 120 Vac and power
them from a solid state inverter.
GL on the contacts! Some day I might try too . . . classics
Let us know what and how it was done and turned out.
