John,
GE MASTR IIs and such don't usually go to the dumpster if we can help
it...they make excellent rptrs!
The VHF models can be modified to 220 and the lowbands go to 10 or 6 FM and
the UHFs go to 440 of course..
While the 800MHz can be moved to 900...and I have seen UHF models moded with
a tripler and rcv converter for 1.2GHZ!
No, not all of these workhorses go to the dumpster...if they do, its because
a ham didn't know about them!!
I have 15 MVPs in storage waiting on modification to link radios (low to mid
range UHF)...and a few other GEs, etc..
