Many thanks to all who responded to my query about the synthesizer for 
older commercial radios- both on and off list. I even got a reply from a 
guy that had a GLB synthesizer that he'd part with!!!
There are so many old 2-way radios out there that were built like the 
proverbial brick outhouse and would run forever with unbelievable abuse. 
And selling for pennies on the dollar.
Sure, they weigh a ton, take up half the available space in modern cars and 
don't have all the bells and whistles of the stuff that's being sold today 
but it's a shame to see them go into the dumpster.
