Comments:
Special thanks to my host Laurent, FM5BH who maintains and improves his station
every year. This is my 2nd year for WPX CW.
He has a pair of towers in a very small yard. This year he added antenna
phasebox, so the big antenna was pointing EU and the 2nd tower with a tribander
and 2L 40m yagi at stateside most of the contest.
This proved especially effective for optimizing 40m at night, which resulted in
nearly 1000Qs,and half of my multipliers.
Score was down by .5meg from last year, but so was 10m activity. However, mults
were up by 50+. I broke 1000mults much earlier this year, last year I just made
1000 at the end of the contest.
Condx for Fri night on 40 were amazing, constant stream of loud EU and US
calling in. I noticed I was still working many EU on 40 long after their
sunrise. 40m accounted for 53% of total QSO points, but only 1/3 of total QSOs.
Just took a 2hr nap around 1100UTC Sat morning, then moved to 20 until 15
opened. Some great mults called in, including some rare DXCC like TN8.
