Important Notice to all Club Members...
Effective immediately, and due to the extremely high wind speeds that are
forecast for the next few days, the Remote HF station is completely
out-of-service and will remain so until further notice.
The National Weather Service is forecasting blizzard conditions with wind
gusts into the 50 MPH range during this upcoming winter storm event. As a
result, we have taken the system off-line and lowered the antenna tower to
its fully-stowed condition.
Please note too that if anyone should happen to drive out to the Clubhouse
with the anticipated snow cover in place on the grounds, the 160-meter loop
antenna wire will most likely not be visible or evident in its lowered
position. Therefore, DO NOT DRIVE ANY VEHICLES INTO THE AREA TO THE LEFT
OF THE FRONT STEPS OF THE CLUBHOUSE. Doing so may well entangle and damage
or destroy the antenna, and could potentially cause vehicular damage as
well as damage to the tower(s) that support the antenna wire.
