[GCARC] Antenna question

I'm also looking for similar advice regarding an antenna.
I am currently using an end-fed wire antenna attached to the side of my
house at approximately 25 feet. Given its inherent limitations, I've still
been able to work DX on SSB and FT8, but would like to upgrade to either a
vertical or multiple-band dipole, G5RV, or OCFD, or similar that would work
for my QTH. I have the room to play (77 x 200-foot lot) and no HOA, but
still need to have it be a bit stealthy for a variety of reasons.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to make the holiday party this year, buit
would be willing to host an advisory site visit at my property for our
club's respected antenna Elmers with refreshments provided.
I also have a partially assembled and never used MFJ-1796 vertical antenna
that is designed to work on 40 to 2 meters (no WARC bands). It's currently
assembled in three sections. I have the manual and hardware to complete the
assembly. I had purchased it to use at my old QTH but it doesn't quite work
for my new location. Asking $220, which is about $100 less than the price
at HRO.
Thanks and good luck with your antenna project Mary.
