At tomorrow’s GCARC meeting Ron Block NR2B will be presenting the lightning protection project that was implemented in the HF room at the Clubhouse. This will be a great opportunity to show both the theory of building a lightning-safe ham shack and how it’s actually implemented. At the Tech Saturday event on Saturday he’ll be at the Clubhouse to show how the installation was actually implemented there. If you’re interested in protecting your gear from a lightning strike these are great opportunities to hear the best practices from one of the experts in the field.
At tomorrow’s meeting we’ll also be showing the progress being made to install the lightning protection components in the VHF room as well as the planned redesign of the VHF room and several other areas of the clubhouse to facilitate its broader use by club members. We’ll also be discussing several opportunities for obtaining funding to significantly expand the VHF/UHF capabilities of the clubhouse station.
Join the group at the Pfeiffer Center at 7:30 or by Zoom (see Tony’s email earlier tonight for the link). Hope to see you there.
