Good answers here, and keep 'em coming.  Karl, glad to hear that I am not
missing a whole lot if I don't go digital.  I have never felt that digital
voice modes were a good fit for ham radio, and having multiple digital
platforms that are not compatible is like the nail in the coffin. And
Vinnie, I was actually wondering if those Chinese radios were any good.
For that price, not a lot to lose just to try one out.  They certainly are
small.  I am still looking, and still considering all of the many options.
