As long as it can receive 2m FM, it'll work. Your baofeng will work
perfectly.

Yes - you'll be working mostly by ear. You'll be able to tell when you're
getting close with both the stock antenna and the yagi (at different
ranges).

My family failed miserably finding the fox - until we basically noticed the
groups of hams hihi! You can't fail, and as long as you can hit the
repeater, you'll be able to get to the fox. I fail constantly when doing
radio stuff. My last SSB CQ was literally answered out of pity: "you've
been callin so long, i just had to shut you up!". Anyway, just know that if
it starts getting not fun, to check into the repeater and see if anyone
will give you a hint.

I'd love to chat more about my experience last time. Care to jump on the
W2MMD 2m repeater? I wonder if we could simplex using your yagi!
