[GCARC] Advice for this Sunday's Fox Hunt

Good morning all,

I am going to attempt my first Fox Hunt tomorrow and I'm looking for a
little advice.

I am new to Ham Radio, and about the only thing I really know is that I
don't know much. I am however enjoying learning more about it.

First of all, all I have to use at this time is a Baofeng HT. Will that even
work, or am I just wasting my time?

I was able to borrow an old 2-Meter Yagi antenna from a friend. I know it
works, because I was able to hit our repeater in Pitman from home, which I
can never do with the rubber duck antenna it came with.

Will I be able to hear the changes in the signal strength or do I need a
better radio with a built-in S-Meter?

I really want to give it a try, but I also don't want to fail miserably and
get discouraged.

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Len Rust
