The International Space Station has started sending SSTV pictures again and will continue for the next few days. The SatNOGS station at the clubhouse got two fragments and one pretty clear picture on the pass at 12:21 today and will be recording all remaining passes. Unfortunately many of the passes are at night but a few are in early morning. If you’re interested in trying to decode them go to https://heavens-above.com/PassSummary.aspx?satid=25544 , enter your location in the upper-right box and you’ll get the pass times for this area (the compass app on your iPhone will give you your current lat/long). The freq is 145.800 FM and the signal is often strong enough to hear on an HT. Some hams have been successful holding the HT speaker up to the iPhone mic and using a SSTV app to decode the pictures. Note that the pix are transmitted with 2 minutes on and then a wait time of 2 minutes so keep listening if you don’t hear anything.
I’ll post some of what SatNOGS gets after the session ends in a few days.
73 and Merry Christmas de Jon WB2MNF
