[GCARC] DMR Question

Good Afternoon All,


A few years ago I was considering a DMR HT and the only affordable ones were DMR-MARC and/or Brandmeister.  I see now that there are affordable HT's using the Motorola Tier Ⅰ&Ⅱ platform.  I am a little confused because I think these platforms are incompatible and one hast to go one way or the other for operating systems.  So, the question is, since I live in Williamstown and will have access to the Waterford repeater and/or will be using Pi-Star which has the DMR+ platform, which radio format would give me the best options for the money without buying multiple radios?
