[GCARC] SITE ACTIVITIES - FRIDAY MARCH 28, 2014

Today the following got accomplished:

Kevin Hall KD2FFZ  leveled the trailer by putting in 3 more block piles on
the south side of the trailer and  2 more block piles on the north side of
the trailer. It's now perfectly leveled but Kevin wants to add one more
block pile on the back side. The construction official for the town said
that 8 on the front and back was sufficient but Kevin didn't like what he
saw and when done, we will have 11 on both rows. 

 

Bill Price NJ2S helped with  the alarm system, door readjustment and
installed 2 USB ports so when at the site if you have to charge your phone
or IPAD you only have to plug in. Bill has an assortment of cords which he
will bring out. 

 

The alarm vendor was there and did everything he had to do so we are up and
running, the only thing that has to be accomplished is the interconnect to
Al Arrison  KB2AYU's home. 

 

The front door was raised so the flooring can be finished on Saturday.  One
of the two exit signs was installed at the front door and as time permits
the one for the back door will be installed. 

 

One of the 3 smoke detectors is now installed outside the bathroom door in
the hallway and as soon as the other two arrive they will be installed.  

 

I am now in the process of setting up the door code entry passwords which
will take some time for 120 members and then the vendor will computerize
them to the system. As for now the code that you have will suffice. More
will be explained at the next club meeting. 

 

Saturday I will bring out my ICOM IC-76MK2G, power supply, auto tuner and CW
key for a test run on the HF beam and 6 meter beam. Although they are
pointing West things should work out fine. 

 

See you tomorrow at 9 AM.  Rain is supposed to start in mid afternoon so we
should be able to complete the flooring, including the bathroom floor and
back door floor area.   PS: it all takes time... Park around the back of the
trailer. 

 

Oh by-the-way for those of you who know Wally, he stopped by today, we gave
him the nickel tour and he loved it.
