Regarding remarks by Carl and Time, giving something away shouldn't
require two trips to the post office, which I have to do if I want the
shipping costs in advance.  I don't do any business to justify
calculating shipping costs in advance with a good scale.

I always ship first and email the cost - and have never been cheated. 
Since it's never much money, it's just the principle.

When shopping online, feedback is available to check on buyers.  Freebay
is free and doesn't provide this feature, and shouldn't.  However, I
think if anyone doesn't pay for shipping after the fact, he ID should be 
posted on Freebay in case anyone is interested.

I'll continue to ship in advance of payment to save the inconvenience of
two trips to the post office.  And if 
I get cheated out of a couple of dollars, I'll put a message here to let
others know.  I appreciate someone
having a use for what I give away, but packing and the trip to the post
office shouldn't go unrewarded by not paying the shipping cost.  Unlike
others, packing material is free, just the postage is all I ask - unlike
some
who seem to have very high postage rates in advance - even higher than
Amazon and Ebay for example.

I like this thing and don't object to people asking for something or
offering a swap.  I'm fast on the delete 
option....

Clearly, Tony, you were ripped and shouldn't have been.  My 
experiences, though, with FreeBay participants has been good.  In 
fact, recipients of my "free" stuff have either provided prepaid 
mailing labels or remitted the requested shipping expenses in advance.

Hope you next experience is considerably better.
