      FORT PIERCE AMATEUR RADIO CLUB - MINUTES -  5/10/2006 
 
      The regular monthly meeting of the Fort Pierce Amateur Radio Club was 
chaired by President Art Lindell, W4ZEF. Attendance was 13. Visiting was Ray, 
WA4MLD.
 
      MINUTES: The minutes of the April meeting were approved as distributed, 
after motion by Paul, KG4MCE, seconded by Kevin, W4KKW.
 
      TREASURY: Treasurer Carl, KF4KCI’s report was approved as distributed af
ter motion by Kevin, W4KKW, seconded by Paul, KG4MCE. For discussion, Art, 
W4ZEF, asked if we had any outstanding bills. Kevin, W4KKW, said about $250 for 
2 new club banners. Pete, KD4SPW, said that club property equipment insurance 
had been paid and Post Office box rental had been paid.

      President Art, W4ZEF, asked if anyone had news about our club HF rig. 
Ernie, KF4IHX, said that Mel, W4DAQ, took it to International Radio in Fort 
Pierce for repair. He said that Mel told them no hurry, but that we need it time 
for Field Day.
     
      REPEATER:    Art, W4ZEF, asked if everyone had heard the new sounds on 
the club 2 meter repeater. Art asked Ernie, KF4IHX, if he had heard from Greg, 
KB4VVE, about installing the new 440 UHF repeater. 
 
      Art, W4ZEF, showed us a new membership application he made.
                                                          
      HURRICANE EXPO:   Art, W4ZEF, discussed the request from Jim, W4JLT, 
for our club to join him and others at a ham booth at this year’s Hurricane Expo 
at the Treasure Coast Square Mall, the first weekend in June. Pete said that 
usually the EOC has a booth and asks the hams to attend. Ernie, KF4IHX, said 
there has been no official request from the EOC. Ernie said he will ask if the 
EOC will be requesting hams. 
 
      Art, W4ZEF, discussed Skywarn training. He said that Wayne, KA1VRF, 
said that weekends were booked and training would have to happen on weeknights, 
maybe at club meetings.
 
      Art, W4ZEF, told of Bill, N4XEO, passing away in his sleep April 21.
 
      Carl, KF4KCI, told about he and Pete, KD4SPW, working at Bill, N4XEO’s 
house. He said there is a lot we can do to help Barbara with Bill’s ham stuff. 
We planned another work day at Bill’s for the following Saturday, May 13.
 
      Carl, KF4KCI, made a motion to appoint Kevin, W4KKW, as club trustee. 
Ernie, KF4IHX, seconded the motion and it passed. Kevin agreed to be trustee. 
We discussed changes we as a club will have to make considering Bill’s passing.
 
            HAMFEST:    Art, W4ZEF, said we need to send out Hamfest flyers. 
We decided to stay late after our club VE test session in 2 weeks to send out 
flyers to clubs. Later we will send flyers out to those on the Hamfest 
database.
 
      FIELD DAY:   The group continued with discussions about Field Day.
