I am trying to make an ARDF RX. I am using a mini circuit mixer with a built-in
MAR preamp. I use a TTL osc at 125 mhz from a local surplus store. I am doing test
with my Icom R10 RX and it seems promising. I plan to use a motorola MC13135 RX
chip using the included varactor tuning oscillator at 31 mHz, I have tried it
directly on 146 but it is not stable. I hate RF but it seems that I have no choice
but to make one sice there in just about nothing availlable in NA for ARDF except
the old active attenuator + a RX + a beam + a map + pencil and a compass :-).
