The FT-301 also has an 11m band. Is there a similar modification to use it
on 12m?

: Hi Pete,
:
: The very early FT-101s came from the factory with 11 meters enabled. Later
: ones were disabled a very high-tech method called a jumper wire. This
short
: brown jumper was wired between wafer 8 and wafer 9 of the band switch, in
: the 11 meter postion, and should be visible through the "window" in the
: shield covering the bottom of the bandswitch. Access can be obtained by
: turning the rig upside down and remove the bottom cover. The window is a
: little less than halfway from the front panel to the rear apron over the
: bandswitch. In the manual, the illustration showing the bottom view
refers
: to the window as T-105. All that need be done is to cut the jumper.
CBers
: refered to this as "cutting the ambilical cord".
: I suspect that you have a rather "rare" FT-101EE, as I have never
personally
: seen one that did not already have the jumper cut, Hi Hi, including mine.
: You shouldn't have to align anything except maybe to touch up TC-20 for
the
: 12 meter crystal.
:
: 73 and God Bless.
