Over the last 2 years I have bought a few of the FT-101 rigs to add to my
101 series collection. All have worked great untill last week when I bought
this Yaesu FT-101EE. This rig looks like it just come out of the box. It
does have a problem that I was not told about. When you turn the rig on all
is ok. After about 5 mins of just warning up and not even turning on the
Hearter switch you start to hear a popping sound through the speaker. Then
it blows the 5 amp fuse at the back of the rig. I can replace it and then
again after a few mins it blows the fuse agn. I have just left it unpluged
from the wall for the time now.
I thought I would just ask to see if any of you 101 owners might have an
idea of what this problem might be or whats the cause of this ?
I could swap it over and try it out on 12 volt power supply and see if it
still blows the fuse but I first wanted alittle input from some of you 101
owners.
Thanks,
