Try the mod. However, couple the scope to the IF through a 3pF
capacitor. You can drill another hole in the back "skirt" of the 101 and
install another RCA jack with the capacitor installed on the inside of the rig.
The reason for the 3pF cap is to prevent the IF from being "swamped" and
degrading your receiver.
