When I asked about the crystals on the FT 101 I have I mentioned it was an
early model. It is a FT 101 no suffix, serial number in the 24,000 range.
The question I had was whether the WWV position was always only receive only
and/or whether people would convert that position to 30 meters.
By, the way, I had heard that the FT 101 did not have a very good receive.
I am using it on CW, and it has a 600 hz filter. I think it receives
nicely. I also have an FT 1000D which has wonderful receiving ability.
While the FT 101 is not going to outdo the 1000D by any means, it certainly
does a very nice job. I have been listening quite a bit to this rig, and
hear stations throughout the country here in Michigan on the 40 meter dipole
that I have on my second story deck. The rig is doing a nice job.

only because it's missing one or more transmit coils. There is a company
selling 'WARC' band kits for those radios -

meter coils. I have a 101ZD where this was done, but the receive and
transmit performance is down on 12. It does work, however.

heard the difference when the rig was set on CW. I looked and the filter
was installed. Because this rig was in fact new in the box and had never
been used, I imagine the factory installed it. Maybe it could have been
installed by Henry Radio where it was purchased?

for the Aux position, which is supposed to be the 160 position. The manual
states that 160 was added as an afterthought.
