And sometimes even that isn't good enough. As the one
who started this thread, I can tell you I checked over
his feedback. 100% feedback with 42 positive ratings
(he now has 4 negative ones, from me and 3 others he
screwed). The ones where he was a seller said that
the equipment was great, fast shipping, etc. He had
recent sales and purchases, and I even googled his
call and found nothing negative. Everything on his
auction made it look like he was a seller to deal
with. Boy was I wrong, and so were quite a few
others. I now know of 4 others who didn't receive
items they paid for, and 2 smart ones who didn't send
money because he wouldn't send his address or phone
number to them.

It is amazing how quickly one can change in their
business practices and dealings, but obviously it does
happen. I spoke with someone who identified themself
as his mother last tuesday and she didn't say anything
about him being sick, injured, in jail, out of the
country, held hostage by terrorists (although this
might be appropriate for him now) or anything else
that would prevent him from contacting us or shipping.
And since there are 4 others still waiting, I doubt
it is a case of UPS losing 1 package, especially since
at least 1 of them was supposedly sent my the post
office.

One guess might be that he is going thru a divorce or
lost his job, and decided that he needed the money
more than he needed his reputation or clear conscious.
The fact that he printed a shipping label thru paypal
with his name and such on it leads me to believe that
his account wasn't hijacked. Plus, if someone set out
to hijack his account and make some money, I would
think they would use higher priced gear. I truely
believe he had the Alinco DX70TH and the other things
he was selling in his possession, he just chose not to
honor the purchases and ship them.

Again, you can do everything right in checking out a
buyer, and still get stung. I do also believe he will
get his sooner or later, hopefully sooner.
