No Gene, I'm not suggesting that radios used on ham frequencies *only*
need to be type accepted.  I am saying that a radio used in the
amateur service *and*, as suggested in the original note, GMRS, would
have to be type accepted for use in the GMRS service.

I could have phrased it better I realize. Its the GMRS service that
needs the type acceptance.  The principle is still valid...that is...a
radio used in multiple services has to be type accepted for all the
services its used in.  In the case of the amateur service of course,
there is no type acceptance.
