in the Tampa Bay area!

Practical Electronics is what Allied and Radio Shack
USED to be.

Their primary customer base appears to be electronic
repair shops and service departments in companies and
schools and they are not YET licensed Hams  :-)  but
we should try to support them so they are there for
long time to come.

They carry lots of discrete components Hams often need:

Cable, caps, connectors, chemicals, fuses, heat
shrink tubing, meters, pots, resistors, relays,
semiconductors, soldering supplies, switches,
tools, wire & wire connectors, and wire ties.

They have a closeout/specials table out front and are
very friendly and helpful.

I have given them information about a reliable free Web
hosting service and strongly encouraged them to establish
even a one-page Web presence with their list of categories
of products, E-mail, phone, address, map, etc. so we can
more easily share their availability with others.

EMERGENCY COMMUNICATORS:
Practical would like to stock Anderson Powerpoles but
cannot get a reply from the Anderson folks.  It would
be VERY valuable to emergency response communications
folks to have a local source for quick pickup.  Anyone
have a contact with the Anderson folks who could make
this happen?  Maybe if many of us E-mail Anderson and
ask them to make this happen they'd get the message?
