Well said, Bill.

The 'as is' disclaimer turns me off too.

It is a statement of the obvious.  Most buyers understand that the
seller is not going to do anything to improve the condition of the
offering and trust the seller not do anything to degrade the condition
of the offering.  Now this assumes that the seller has accurately
described the condition in the first place.

The 'as is' disclaimer without a decent description means that you are
probably going to pay good bucks to ship something that needs to be
thrown into the nearest landfill.

I put the 'as is' disclaimer into the same catagory with the radio
commercials that end in fast talking, legalese.  That tells me
everything I heard previous is most likely untrue.
