Think you will find that that is the max dimensions and weight for Priority 
mail, however the flat rate boxes are 2 new additions and they furnish the 
boxes and you are not allowed to distort them in the process of packing. The 
boxes have a big red dot on them specifying "Flat rate". Believe me if you 
could pack that gen in a box and send it for $7.70 OOPS and FX would be out 
of business.
