As talked about at the December CARS meeting, CARS is going to sponsor a
winter picnic Saturday January 18th, at 1pm at the 4H club on Hamlin's
Boulevard. That weekend is also the ARRL January VHF Sweepstakes. Our
plan is to also set up a contest station to operate that contest in a
"Field Day" type environment. People are welcome to stay overnight on
site if they would like to be able to operate the contest as much time
as possible.

Please let me know if you would like to attend. Please bring a covered
dish to share if you're coming to the picnic. CARS will provide
hamburgers & hotdogs for the picnic.

If you are going to be one of the "late night gourmets" staying late,
our club Emeril Lagasse', Dan W4BNC is going to be working up a
scrumptious late night delicacy of surf & turf. Contact either myself or
Dan for more details if you are going to particpate.

Also, please let me know if you are interested in helping set up our
station for the contest.

All amateurs are invited to attend! So far, I've had RSVP's for a couple
of people, hope to see more there.
