See CQ magazine, May 06, p.50-51 re Brevard Emergency Amateur Radio
Services (BEARS) mobile comm center, on 34 ft. motorhome chassis,
built by North American Catastrophe Services (NACS), of Melbourne,
FL, on a Forest River RV basic structure on Ford RV chassis (with V10
engine). Electronics done by BEARS volunteers. A Powerpoint
presentation is available (large file).

It was built to BEARS specs. It has 4 operating positions plus
Supervisor, VHF/UHF at each position, 2 positions with packet, 1 with
ATV, 2 with HF. 5 networked laptops, scanner, county 800 MHz, Winlink
(in work), Red Cross 47.42 MHz, Marine, Red, White & Blue fire, CB,
GMRS/FRS., APRS, and patch rack for routing all video, audio, and
data. It has Aluma 40 ft. tower.

Brevard is a Florida county on East Coast. BEARS is consortium of all
comm groups (ham clubs, REACTs, MARS, etc.) in Brevard.

It was exhibited at FEPA conference in St. Pete in February 06.

It was funded basically by a $95000 grant from the State under the
EMPA to BEARS.

It is available for ARESMAT operations upon request to Brevard EM
through State EOC.

A few views are attached. Not on FLARES copy hereof because
