I used a hand key from 1955 through 1965.

I used a bug from 1965 through 2000 and absolutely loved it! The timing, the 
rhythm, the control was beautiful! [25 wpm was super easy!]

I bought an ICOM 746 in 2000 and 'upgraded' to a paddle and the internal keyer. 
What a disaster!! After 35 years with a bug the keyer was impossible! I took me 
almost a year to be able to send 15 wpm basically error free.

It is almost seven years later and I am not comfortable with a paddle/keyer 
combination. I don't think I'd go back to a bug, but the keyer is tough!
