[Fists] USING THE Q-SIGNAL QRL? DUMMY LOADS ANYONE?

I disagree about using QRL. Just because you don't
hear anyone on a frequency that you want to use,
doesn't mean it isn't in use. It could be that the
station currently sending cannot be heard by you but
the other station can. While each ops turn in a QSO is
generally short, it can last several minutes. How long
are we expected to wait before calling CQ? And then
we'll really be QRM'ing the QSO in progress as opposed
to sending a quick QRL? and one of the other station
sending a quick C. I don't think ID'ing is really
necessary if I send QRL? and someone answers C. Just
move on to another frequency. If nobody answers, then
you'll ID at the end of your CQ which fits the
requirement of ID'ing once every ten minutes. You may
still be QRM'ing a QSO in progress assuming that you
can't hear either station but they can hear you, but
there's not much you can do about that. But it's still
best to send QRL? in the hopes one of them can hear
you. I do agree about tuning up on a QSO in progress.
That drives me crazy and I can't believe so many ops
are doing that without realizing the QRM they are
causing.
