I also believe that there are many other potential new hams that are
overlooked. What about all the guys that at one time either were hams, or
thought about it, but jobs and new family responsibilities took all their
time and or bux. No time for hobbies. I have run into a few of these
guys, so I know there must be more. QST, World Radio, CQ, and whatever
other rags that are around, constantly go on and on about getting new
folks into radio. That is all fine and dandy if someone is BUYING those
mags, but why would you if you were not already interested in ham radio.
What do you do with all your old QST and CQ mags??? Will your local
library take them and put them out??? I wonder if clubs would get
together and put an add in the local paper on Sunday or some such if it
would generate interest? I know that some of the clubs post their class
schedules, but again, if you only post on ham radio reflectors, or in
club news letters, whose gonna know except those that are already
hams......Just a thought.....................Al/W8FAX/2192
