There is a way to QRS without having to go into the menu of rigs or dial
down an outboard keyer.

Just add a bit more space between the letters and word break, etc.

As a staunch advocate of learning the complete sound of a character, I have
found that working stations who might operate at a speed slower than my
usual do not have a problem with the faster character speed with a little
extra space between letters and words.
