Mark,
Happy New Year to you. Your friend is not alone. I too have a spinal chord
injury that prevents me from using traditional equipment to send. Instead,
I use a sip-n-puff device to key an electronic keyer to send CW. Plans for
a similar device were published in the March 2004 QST.
If your friend wants to try one, our local radio club is planning on
producing several of these sip-n-puff "keys" at our next meeting (February
5). We hope to provide them free of charge to any ham who needs one. If
your friend can wait a few weeks, I'll be glad to fix him up. Let me know.
Incidentally, for years I have joked that I would start my own Morse code
Preservation Society and call it LIPS or LUNGS.

Win a new Icom IC-756PROIII and help QSL/QTH.net. Details at:

Boy I *hope* it's not really been that slow lately, I hope it's my computer
and not the list that's so quiet! Before I go any further I want to say
Happy New Years to all my fellow FISTS. Hope 2005 is healthy and happy for
you and yours.
I'm almost done with my moving three houselholds and I'm somewhat settled
in. Time to hang a wire in the trees and get back on the air. Boy do I miss
it so!
Help needed: I have a ham buddy that has not been on CW in awhile due to a
spinal cord injury. The main problem seems to be that he has tremors in his
hands. Has anyone else addressed this problem either machanically and/or
electronically?
Thanks!
73,
Mark W1EOF
