The "index" page Page for QSL Bureau web site and has been revised to
>identify the two search functions as:
>
> Bureau Use Search: Provides a fast method to obtain information
> on which members use the Bureau
> or which ones QSL direct only or which
> ones do not QSL at all.
>
> Bureau Status Search: Provides a method to find out the number
> of cards and envelopes we have on
> hand for you in the Bureau.
>
>Our information is necessarily limited to only those members for whom we
>have received a QSL card and those
>from whom we have received SASE's
>
>The "Bureau Use Search" provides a place to find those members:
>
> Who do use the Bureau and have ( or have had ) SASE's on hand
>
> Who do not use the Bureau and only QSL direct
>
> Who do not QSL at all
>
> Who QSL through a QSL manager.
>
> Who have not responded to our request for SASE's
>
> Who have a new callsign
>
> Who are Silent Keys
>
>It is this search that you can use to determine if you should send your
>card to the Bureau
>
>We envision the "Bureau Status Search" to be used mainly by members who do
>use the Bureau so they can find out
>whether they still have envelopes on hand at the Bureau. Or, if they have
>a few cards which they would like us to mail
>even though it is not enough to fully utilize the postage on their SASE.
>
>Anthony and I both think that these search features obsolete the need to
>keep the other lists up-to-date. Therefore, I've
>added the following:
>
> Note: Since the search features provide means to obtain the data,
> we plan to
> discontinue Lists 1, 2 and 3 effective March 15, 2005.
>
>We will monitor the "hits" on the search functions to determine if they
>are being used as we think they would.
>
>The other change was to have all links, including search functions, opened
by clicking the highlighted name of the link.
>Also all the highlighting has been changed to dark red color, so that only
>the links are blue.
>
>Once again you might have to do a "Refresh" or a "Reload" on your browser
>to get these changes to show
>on your computer.
>
>Appreciate your feedback on these changes.
