Good afternoon to all my fellow FIST colleagues. Here is a question to see
if anyone can help me.

During the first two weeks of September, my wifer and I will be going on
vacation to New York to sepnd some time with my younger son now in the
Brooklyn area.

I am planning to bring my small Yaesu VX-1 handy with me. This little 2
meter radio has also the capability of  hearing at the police Frequencies.

Is it legal for me to bring it over? Is there any way I can find a copy of
the lwas governing the use and operation of this equipment in the NY area
without taking the risk of having my radio taken away by a law enforcement
agent?
