You must be older than me.
I never took a "old General" exam, but I took the Conditional (same thing)
in 1960, and it was all multiple choice, although it did have schematics
and asked questions about them.
I took the "old Extra" in 1963 and it also was all multiple choice.
I have a 1953 License Manual in front of me, and the questions are very
similar in difficulty to todays questions, although the Novice questions
are embarrassingly easy.
