CW offers a 12+ dB advantage over SSB. Most hams use wire or small vertical
antennas. If you want to work DX, you have to use what works. CW works.
Not to beat a dead horse, but think about what that means when passing
emergency traffic. If you're using SSB and conditions deteriorate, two
skilled operators can quickly switch to CW to get the message through.
However, there has to be competent CW operators on both sides of the
emergency for this to work.
