There is going to be a task for the ones of us who remain members - and that
it to unseat MOST of the current Board of Directors. We will need every
vote, and to find alternative candidates from among our ranks &
sympathizers.
So, I am not yet resigning. However, for those who chose to follow their
conscience and do so, I think it will send a powerful message to the BoD
that they have really screwed up this time. Their new-found CB friends do
not tend to join ARRL, and now they have pissed away their core client base.
Way to go ARRL. It is time to take back out organization by paying
attention to what each Director does, and TRACKING it; marking certain
Directors for replacement; and finding alternative candidates. Then, we who
remain members must all VOTE as a block when we can.
When the ARRL's Petition fro Rulemaking comes out, comment on it! When the
FCC's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking comes out, comment on that too!! And
Reply to Comments, and Petition for Reconsideratrion, and reply to that.
How did we lose in 1998-2000? Through complacency, and because the other
side organized and was persistent.
