I wonder whether any of the critics of the Key Note article on Metric
abbreviations have ever submitted anything for publication in Key Note and
had it subject to criticism of the knockers?

We may be an amateur organisation but we at least should endeavour to
maintain professional standards, including  what we comit to paper.  There
are accepted standards of abbreviations not only for Metric but also for
Imperial as principally used nowadays in the Mother Country and it's former
North American colonies.
