Well looks like it wont be too long now before the FCC takes comments on
this great proposal. Being a member of the ARRL I have never seen
anything so stupid in my life (maybe except for incentive licensing).
The total lack of support the organization has given the CW user shows
me where we stand in their vision of greatness. You E-mail your SM and
get a canned response, and where was this survey that was supposed to
tell that the majority of hams wanted this change? Kinda like the future
WARC2003 thing about getting rid of the code, yet internet surveys show
that 79 percent of all amateurs want to retain the cw requirement for
licensing. Again I'm urging this group and others to take a few minutes
and write to the FCC regarding this proposal.If this keeps up we are
going to end up with 50 Khz slices on the bands shared with not only
digital ops but overseas ssb as well.
