WA3ZKZ has provided freeware, available at
http://hfradio.org/softdown.html, called SNAPmax 5.01 - a DOS
program for PC's that enables you to take current conditions, your
antenna and location, and remote location information, then look at
the band openings, noise figures, and propagation modes, etc.

It defaulted to CW mode.  I liked that.  It worked well during my
testing.
