Aloha from Hawaii,

At the Koolau Radio Club meeting last Saturday, Mike AH7R
(fists#3225) mentioned that the actual telegraph key (Vibroplex,
maybe) that was used on the Missouri to send the news of the
surrender signing on September 2, 1945 still exists; in a museum
someplace. Mike had the bright idea (if we can find it) to see if we
can borrow it and then use it on the air on September 2 (probably
2003, as not much time to arrange for 2002).

The USS Missouri is now docked here at Pearl Harbor, just
near the Arizona Memorial. The amateur station on board is
KH6BB; would be great to have that key on board as above!
(Info about the station/ship at QRZ.com at KH6BB).

But so far we've been unable to locate the key or confirm the rumor that it
even exists. Does anyone have any information/leads?
