Let's make a list of some things we can send to keep the conversational 
ball rolling.

1. Using side swiper key, or WWII J-38, or whatever. (Many cw ops love 
their keys more than their rigs.)

2.  Age hr 58 es bn ham since 1958.  (This often leads to comparisons of 
first rigs ot novice-days fun.)

3.  Had two kids - boy 35 teaches at U of M; Girl 32 has 2 of her own.  
(Get a guy talking about his grandkids and it'll be a 2-hr QSO!)

4.  Other hobby hr is barbershop harmony.  I sing bass wid a mens chorus 
in Toledo.  (Most hams have othe hobbies, and love to talk about them.)

5. I teach electronics at a jr college.  Busy today unpacking new scopes 
for lab.  (Job notes, or retirement activities makec good conversation.)

6.  Have one very old es very spoiled cat hr.  Had samoyed pup yrs ago 
but had to give away.  (Everybody loves their pets.)
