Jim,
I have an MFJ 483 and I wouldn't imagine that the connection is any =
different.
Working back from the STEREO plug tip; tip =3D dot, middle section =3D =
dashes; rear section =3D paddle ground.
You are experiencing trouble because you were naughty and opened your =
present early!
Merry Christmas and 73

Subject: [Fists] Help with MFJ keyer needed
Greetings.and Happy Holidays! I received an early Christmas gift, and =
I'm having trouble with it. I hope someone can help. I got a Bencher =
Iambic paddle.and a MFJ Deluxe Electronic Keyer model MFJ-407C. For =
some reason I'm struggling getting it hooked up. I ran a piece of 2 =
conductor shielded cable from the keyer (one conductor on each post) to =
a =BC stereo phono plug. The dot to the tip and the dash to the ring. =
It won't work L.
=20
For the heck of it I took the wire off the ring and put it on the =
shield and then no matter what I do with the paddles I get a steady =
stream of dots. =20
=20
Has anyone used this keyer? Sure would appreciate some help. I =
haven't been on CW in 10 years, and I was telling my XYL that I wanted =
to get back into it and join FISTS. So, she got me an early Christmas =
present!! =20
=20
Any help will be very much appreciated.
=20
Thanks
