[FieldDay] Generators and UPS

I've yet to find a commercial 'computer type' UPS that
will run from my generator.

I'm using APC UPS in the 400-500VA class and a
Kawasaki 1200W motor-generator. The output looks great
on a scope but the UPS will beep and click in-and-out
like the line is dropping in/out.

I'm assuming there are some harmonics or spikes or
SOMETHING the UPS is responding to, but I haven't
noticed them on my scope.

Anyone find a UPS that will run from a generator?

I run my radios from a 12V deep-cycle marine battery
and put a charger on the battery from the generator.
That way, I can kill the generator at any time and the
stations stay operating. Also, in the late, late night
I kill the generator and the stations can run from the
batteries for many hours and everyone else can SLEEP.
