Got this through my business email, thought ya'll might be interested,
and/or pass this along to someone that might want to start a hobby, or a
career. This isn't an endorsement for ETA, but a note to check out this
new RSD Academy online.
>Free Online Electronics Technology Training Available at RSD Academy!
>
>Today, multiple industries face a critical shortage of electronics
>technicians. ETA International reports that companies they work
>with have a tough time finding qualified and skilled technicians. At
>the same time, opportunities to train in basic electronics technology
>are at a decrease.
>
>Many universities educate electrical engineers but do not usually
>train technicians for electronics service and repair. Community
>colleges have curtailed or eliminated their electronics technology
>programs and private vocational schools are eliminating their
>electronics technology programs or closing altogether. ETA
>International campaigns to interest people in careers in electronics
>technology but can find few places to refer people to for basic-level
>electronics training, that is, until now.
>
>For most of the last 15 years, Bob DuHamel taught an electronics and
>information technology course at a private vocational school. His
>typical student had no background in high technology, yet he had a
>nearly 100% graduation rate and a job placement rate above 80%. The
>companies that employed his students said they were well-prepared for
>their entry-level jobs. But the school phased out the electronics
>program.
>
>When DuHamel learned from ETA International that there is a critical
>shortage of electronics technicians to fill today's job openings, but
>a diminishing number of places where students can learn the trade, he
>decided to convert his curriculum into a free online vocational
>school, RSD Academy. RSD Academy's electronics technology program
>prepares its students to sit for ETA's industry-recognized and
>accredited Associate Certified Electronics Technician (CETa)
>certification exam with free self-paced courses that open doors for
>multiple entry-level jobs.
>
>"I always thought I had a unique and useful approach to teaching
>electronics and that I had something fresh to contribute," Mr. DuHamel
>said. "My communication with ETA International showed me that I'm
>filling a void in the industry and gave me the impetus to accelerate
>my efforts to get the RSD Academy electronics class completed."
>
>You can help keep electronics education free at RSD Academy by
>subscribing to RSD Academy's YouTube channel. Watch, like and
>comment on the videos and YouTube will help spread the word. Linking
>RSD Academy to your website, blog or social media will increase RSD
>Academy's presence on Google and help others find DuHamel's free
>electronics education.
>
>RSD Academy is funded almost entirely by free will donations. All
>donations, no matter how small, make a difference and help keep
>electronics technology training available to anyone who wants to begin
>a career as an electronics technician. Individual pledges start at
>just $1.00 per month. Of course, larger pledges are greatly
>appreciated. Major contributors can have banner ads on RSD Academy's
>textbook pages. For more information, contact DuHamel at >bob at rsdacademy.net
>
>DuHamel's lecture series on YouTube includes titles like:
