For anyone interested in participating in the OSPOTA event this September, I am
looking for someone who might be interested in taking over organizing the local
activity at Harrison Lake. I have a scheduling conflict which will not allow me
to participate this year, but I know the club has always had a fun time running
in this contest and would like to see our participation in the event continue.
I have already reserved the Marzolf Shelter House at Harrison, and notified the
event organizers the the club will be operating under K8BXQ. Some of the tasks
which need to be addressed:
* printing of rules, state park maps, cheat sheet for park codes, and logging
sheets for particpants
* coordinating rig and antenna setup
* cookout organization (I can supply you with a typical list of items I pick up
at GFS for the grill)
* log submission to event organizers
Plan on being there the full day, usually by 10:00am (if not a touch sooner) and
packing up by 8:00pm. There are always more then enough guys sticking around to
help cleanup and tear-down. This does not have to be one person handling all of
these tasks, a team would certainly be more efficient.
I ask that you take lots of pictures and make sure to have a fun time with the
contest. Anyone who has stopped out in the past has always had a lot of fun.
