Field Day 2014 was a great success for the Fulton County Amateur Radio Club.
Weather was ideal, and the rain held off until the last few hours of the
contest. Thanks to everyone who helped with setup and tear down, and everyone
who stopped out to talk and observe. Despite poor conditions on VHF, our
6A+GOTA operating class had great success on the HF bands. Here are some
highlights from the logging we captured I'd like to share:
We ran a 6A class this year, along with a GOTA station
Total CW QSOs: 317
Total Digital QSOs: 162
Total Phone QSOs: 320 (20 GOTA)
Total: 799
With bonuses and power multipliers, we have a claimed score of 3,806, which is
up considerably from last year.
We worked 47 states, 4 Canadian provinces, and 6 DX entities. We also logged
QSOs on 8 of the 12 available bands.
Let me know your thoughts on this Field Day and how you think we could improve
for Field Day 2015 (kd8kbu at arrl.net <mailto:kd8kbu at arrl.net>).
Last, if you have photos you would like to share, please pass them along to me
and I'll get them on the club website. The current album is:
