I have some scheduling information to pass along for the Delta Chicken Festival
this coming weekend.

Thursday:

We will be taking up the trailer and pneumatic mast after work and assembling
the tri-band antenna.

Friday:

6:00pm - 9:00pm the booth will be on the air. We will be in the same tent along
with Police and E.M.S.
10:30pm Fireworks! Delta F.O.E. always puts together a great firework display,
stick around!

Saturday:

12:00pm - 9:00pm the booth will be back on the air.

Sunday:

12:00pm - 2:00pm the booth will be on the air.
1:15pm - report to booth for Parade route assignments
2:00pm - 4:00pm Grand Parade traffic control (operating 146.460 FM simplex)

If you are planning on helping out with the Parade on Sunday, please bring a
fully charged HT. If you do not have one, contact myself or Bryan
(kb8elg at hotmail.com) so we can get you squared away with a loaner from the
club. We will also have yellow safety vests if you do not have your own. Other
items: A hat (the sun is brutal), plenty of water, and sunscreen. You will be
on-station for a few hours, most of the route is pretty well shaded, but there
are a few areas that are not. Check the forecast and dress accordingly. We
have had a few people respond back, so if you are interested in helping out,
please get back to me so we can plan accordingly.

Remember, the club booth will be operating on HF and VHF as K8BXQ (we are a
special events station). We encourage all club members to come out and operate
for a short while. If you have never operated a special events station or even
worked on HF, this is a great opportunity to try it out.

On a side note, I'll probably be running digital ops on HF sometime on Saturday,
so if you ever wanted to try your hand at digital, that would be the day.

Keep checking your email and listening on the 147.195 repeater for updates as
they occur.
