Hi folks,
As hard as it is to believe, Field Day 2011 is only 12 days away! Here is a
list of people I am pretty certain will be bringing rigs and antenna systems to
setup for the 24 hour contest window:
Craig (kd8kbu): HF/VHF rig, operating digital modes across any unused/available band
Lindsay (k8li) & Angela (kb2avn): HF/VHF rig, operating mostly 40m phone (is
that right guys?)
Bryan (kb8elg): HF/VHF rig, operating phone across any unused/available HF band.
David (ab8rc): HF/VHF rig, operating phone across any unused/available HF band
(David, are you and Bryan sharing a rig, or are operating your own?)
Tom (kc8uom): HF rig, operating 10m phone.
People that operated last year that I am not sure of this year, so please pipe
up and let me know:
Steve (w8an): HF rig, operating CW
Donovan (kc8bjh): HF rig, operating phone across any unused/available band
John (kg8xg): HF rig, operating phone across any unused/available band
People who stated they would be stopping out, but I am not certain if you are
bringing equipment
Brian (kb8gom), Ben (kd8jbs), Andy (kd8oey).
In addition to these stations, we also discussed bringing out the club HF rig
along with an MFJ-1777 antenna for operating HF phone/CW/Digital on whatever
band is in open/not in use. Whether we designate this as a GOTA station is
still up in the air, but I like the idea since we still get credit for QSO's and
it does not increase our base designator, opinions?
I will be bringing out a few laptops for running the logging software we ran
last year. This allowed us to have almost immediate results, and also helped us
greatly in determining who was working which mode on which band. This also
helped cut down duplicates considerably. The software we used installs easily
on any mac/windows/linux system, so if you have your own laptop you want to
being out, we can get you setup quickly. I think at the club meeting this
month, I'll bring a couple of laptops out so we can review the software after
the meeting for anyone interested.

Craig Szczublewski - KD8KBU
