[FARReps] FAR conference expanded--new date, call for presentations

CONFERENCE EXPANDED--NEW DATE POSSIBLE, CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS EXTENDED


An unexpectedly high level of interest on the part of presenters and 
sponsors of the 8 September conference on digital technology and 
policy may result in a new time and date.

The Washington, D.C, event would bring together the local amateur 
radio community and the American Radio Relay League.

The new date would be necessary for The Foundation for Amateur Radio 
to accommodate the enlarged goals of featured speakers and programs, 
and allow a bigger event.

Just a few examples:  The plan is to now look nationwide for 
panelists and presentations and to produce take-away program material 
for attendees.  An announcement of increased ARRL participation is 
pending.

Pre-registration will be online; at present, plans are to host the 
registration Web pages on the Maryland-DC section site.

At this writing, the venue is unchanged:  The Armed Forces Retirement 
Home's 272-acre campus at the north end of North Capitol Street in 
Washington, D.C.

The program is being determined now.

This is a call for papers and presentations on the topic of digital 
technology and related issues in Amateur Radio.
